Our client is a leading trade body representing the interests of the glass and glazing sector in the UK. They are a vibrant and forward-thinking organisation, committed to supporting their members and driving positive change across the industry. They’re passionate about championing best practices, sustainability, and innovation within the sector, and are now looking for a dynamic, creative, and driven Social Media Manager to join their team!
As the Social Media Manager, you will be at the forefront of communicating their message, strengthening the brand, and engaging with the community. This role offers you the chance to make a real impact and bring fresh ideas to life on multiple platforms.
As the social media landscape continues to evolve, your responsibilities will include creating and executing strategies that drive engagement, increase brand awareness and, ultimately, generate revenue through membership growth.
This is a remote role with some travel to the office for meeting and events.
Role and responsibilities:
- Produce and curate engaging and relevant content that resonates with our target audience. This will include writing posts, creating visuals, videos, infographics, and more.
- Develop, implement, and manage a dynamic social media strategy to engage with our members, stakeholders, and the broader public across platforms like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and more.
- Review operational procedures, policies and guidance on a scheduled basis and take action to improve operational effectiveness.
- Build and facilitate relationships and networks to support and assist the future exchange of information across the organisation.
- Proactively seek new opportunities for content and stories across the group’s social media ecosystem.
- Ensure members receive the right day to day information, on time, in keeping with our client’s tone of voice and standing in the industry.
- Streamline the group communications channels and improve member engagement.
- To proof-read documentation of all kinds ensuring the accuracy of content, language and grammar of written outputs.
- Training will be provided where needed
Candidates’ skills & experience:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience working as a social media manager
- Experience of supervising direct reports or managing a small team with empathy and compassion
- Knowledge of the glass and glazing industry is preferred but not essential
- Experienced in dealing with difficult and sensitive issues and identifying solutions
- Outstanding written and oral English
- Comfortable using cameras and mobile phones to produce both imagery and video content.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Adobe, Photoshop, Premier Prop, Lightroom and similar creation tools
- Must be comfortable working reactively to tight deadlines and making decisions quickly.
- Have excellent attention to detail and customer service experience
